I want to change my name for personal and familial reasons..but..? - california name change process

I am of legal age and residents of Illinois, but I'm moving to California in August, I had no idea the renaming process would be 8 weeks in Illinois, so if I have a court date ... takes place in August and I'm in California! Wouldddd ask me to change my name in California ... But I think that a resident must live there for at least a year. I want to change my name soon as well that I create a new life in California to rule. I am firmly on this, please help =) Thanks!
